We Shouldn’t Let Anyone Control How We Feel

Our emotions often feel fragile, almost exposed to the weather of other people’s behavior. A comment, a tone, a moment of noise — and suddenly our inner world shakes.
But what if our feelings worked more like listening to a song?
When we put on music we love, something magical happens. No one can interrupt the feeling it gives us. People may talk, cars may pass, life may be loud… yet the song remains ours. Its rhythm is untouched. Its emotion stays steady inside us.
And when something around us does disturb our listening? We don’t argue with the noise. We don’t fight the environment. We simply move.
We change rooms. We take a walk. We put on our headphones. We protect the space where our song plays.
This is how we should treat our emotional life.
We don’t need to let anyone hijack our inner soundtrack. If someone brings noise into our day — negativity, chaos, criticism — we can quietly shift away. Not out of weakness, but out of respect for our peace.
Because in the end, our feelings are our song. And we are the only ones who can choose the volume!
